Mischievous, cunning, and a total smart-alack, Mariana causes trouble everywhere she goes. She's fairly gullible, and she can be easily swayed when presented with a pretty face. She loves human food, and is quite the stickler when it comes to sweets. She talks more casual than others of her kind, and doesn't have very desirable manners; many consider her rude and invasive. She goes against what others tell her in favour of her own whims, and she is mostly independent. However, when her mistress comes into the question, all bets are off; she would just as soon die as to let Felicity get harmed. The bond between the two of them is beyond the mark of their contract, and Mariana is completely open with their unusually close relationship; she could care less what other people (or demons) think about it.
Felicity -
Usually quiet, Felicity can be quite the fireball when provoked. She is strong in her beliefs and will do whatever it takes to defend what she believes in. She is a soft-spoken young girl who is afraid of thunderstorms, but almost nothing else besides the chronic fear of being left alone. For this reason, Felicity has clung to Mariana like a life line, and from that fact stems their unbreakable bond. Since the moment they'd formed the contract, Felicity hasn't left Mariana's sight, and has since ordered the demon to remain by her side at all times. Felicity has a great amount of respect and affection for her demon, and treats her as if Mariana were a sister rather than a servant. Mariana's opinion almost always influences Felicity's own, and she is confident that Mariana would never mislead her.

Mariana -
Mariana has had much trouble with finding a suitable master/mistress, and has been deceived by many of the ones she has contracted in the past. She never knew her "parents" and drifts from place to place quite often. She was the last demon in her rank to venture to earth, and because of that, she was offered no guidance in how or why she should contract a soul. She was quite frivolous at first, and still could be considered such, though ever since she has been with Felicity, her wild spirit and jittery attitude has calmed. She likes having someone there to keep her grounded, and if truth be told, she has always wished that she was a human.
Felicity-
Felicity's parents were assassinated when she was very young, and because of her adolescence, she cannot remember anything about them. The only thing she can recall from the time period was the feeling of being alone, and she has hated it ever since. She is unaware if she has any surviving relatives since Mariana found and took her in almost immediately after her parent's death. She dreams about what a real family would have been like, and she often has nightmares that are flashbacks from her "past life" - though she can never discern whether or not they are really snippets from her past or if they're just muddled memories of different books.
